this is how it started:

board unfinished module

i've been working on this project for months now. i need some more material to make the last two modules and to add the finishing touches to some of the trenches, but it's on a near-playable state right now! i had a lot of fun making it, and i see myself adding more modules in the future to make it a full trench board for more close-ranged fights.

faithful side of the trenches

you may look at it and notice that it looks empty and colorless, and you'd be right... but this is how bleak things looked in ww1 battlefields... the stretches of land between trenches were called no man's land, because they were desolate, filled with corpses, ruins, wreckage, dead trees...

this is made with the setting of trench crusade in mind, which has an alternative historic timeline which diverges at the point of the first crusade, when the templars open the gate of hell, hurling earth into a perpetual war between the faithful and the demonic forces and their heretical followers.

i'm an atheist, but i've found myself enthralled time and time again by religious art and aesthetics, and i love how over the top the religious aspect is here. giant crosses, fields full of tombs, soldiers clad in images of saints, islamic alchemy, satanic troopers with haphazardly cut body parts hanging from them... it makes for very fun kitbashing and decorations.

despite my saying i've spent entire months on it, the techniques and skills needed are fairly simple. you just need some patience because there's a lot of repetition: cutting sticks to the right length, separating cardboard, painting, etc.

i encourage you to make whatever project you want to make, even if you don't know how to do it!! i had no idea about making this kind of thing before, but you just need some online tutorials and to spend a little money on materials and you are good to go :3 nowadays, there's guides for almost everything you'd want to make!
